The environment at Ape Index is designed to be as safe as possible, but there are still inherent risks in all of our activities, and they are no less than climbing and exercising outdoors. There are additional risks:
The soft flooring under the climbing walls and obstacles are designed to reduce (not remove!) the risk of injury when falling. When reaching the top of a route on the climbing walls or Ninja climbs, it is safer to climb down than to drop or jump down. Uncontrolled falls are likely to result in injuries to yourself or others.
Racing or Climbing at your limit will result in uncontrolled falls. Please make sure your landing area is clear.
Please accept and follow all instructions given by our staff and instructors. We are trying to create a safe and productive environment for all of our customers.
Our Duty of Care - The rules of the centre set out below are not intended to limit your enjoyment of the facilities. They are part of the duty of care that we, as operators, owe to you, the customer, by law. As such they are not negotiable and if you are not prepared to abide by them then the staff must politely ask you to leave.
Your Duty of Care - You also have a duty of care to act responsibly towards the other users of the centre. Statements of ‘Good Practice’ are posted around the centre adjacent to the relevant facilities. These describe the accepted methods of use and how customers would normally be expected to behave towards each other.
All under 16s in the centre must be supervised by an adult unless they have been assessed by us and registered for unsupervised participation.
Facilities - Ape Index reserves the right to close the facilities or part thereof for any period of time when required for route or obstacle setting, classes, competitions, other activities or in connection with repairs, alteration or maintenance work.
Ape Index staff will occasionally film and take photographs for marketing and training purposes.
